Coronavirus: WHO confirms over 25,000 cases in Africa-The Panagora Blog

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has reported over 25,000 coronavirus cases in Africa.
Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, the Regional Director for (WHO) Africa, said South Africa is the worst-hit country.
“On the African continent, we now have more than 25,000 confirmed cases which bring to concern increase in some countries in West Africa.


“South Africa remains the most affected country with 3,300 cases.
“We are working through our country representatives to advise and advocate with the government to stem the tide.
“South Africa, Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Cote d’ Ivoire and Guinea are the most affected by the pandemic in the WHO African region in terms of the number of cases.
“Together these countries account for 66 percent of cases in the region as there have been an increase of 43 per cent in the past week and 38 percent increase in the number of deaths reported,” she said
