EMAIL SALES TIPS TO PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS-THE PANAGORA BLOG

EMAIL SALES TIPS TO PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS

Well thought-out emails provoke more interest in the minds of prospective clients than we think. When constructing an email to a prospective client, always keep in mind that you are trying to establish a business relationship with someone who may not even know your brand or product. Thus, it is imperative to always emphasize your value proposition. Even though your email doesn’t shoot an immediate response, it establishes your brand in the prospect’s mind.

  1. Keep your emails to your prospects simple and easy to understand. Do not use ambiguous words when communicating with your prospects.
  2. Do not use “Re:” in a subject line. Your email may get opened, but it’ll either get deleted or not get the desired attention you want.
  3. Keep your email subject line simple, short and appealing. Your goal of sending the email is to pique their interest, make them open your email and see what you have to offer.
  4. Be different. Most clients get hundreds of mails every day. Your challenge is to stand out from the crowd. To come up with engaging messages, dig deeper into your work and unique characteristics or experiences. Include attributes that is beneficial to your potential clients and makes your business different. It may take a little work, but it’ll definitely make you distinct.
  5. Avoid making embarrassing typos and spelling mistakes by copying and pasting your emails into Microsoft Word and running through spell-check. Also, always remember to proof-read your mails multiple times before sending.
  6. Keep your emails short and straight to the point. Emails that ramble on and on tell prospects you are insecure – it makes you seem like a desperate salesperson. If you believe your message is powerful and valuable, you do not need to write a book. 0Prospects do not have the time to read long emails from people they hardly know, thus, the goal of your email should be to elicit a response.
  7. Once you get off the phone with a prospective client, send a follow-up email immediately to ensure it doesn’t slip through the cracks.
  8. Don’t use funky formatting or special fonts when sending mails. Use professional fonts such as Times New Roman or Calibri. Making use of funky formats makes you seem unprofessional and less likely to be taken seriously.

Communication is of utmost importance in any marketing strategy. The ways you reach out to your audience and how well you do it will define how successful your business turns out. E-mails are engaging, timely, cost-effective and increases brand awareness. Communicate effectively with your prospects and clients via emails and experience a positive turn-around in your business.
